I have been working at Texas Health and Human Services Commission full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most holidays off, helping people in need.

    Cons

Management is selected based on who you know, not what you know. No work/life balance. I experience very low employee morale in my local office. Also, each office has their own set of local office procedures, so some reviews of how an office works, may not apply to your particular office location.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should take the time to visit local offices and understand how employees are treated. This agency needs a lot of changes to improve employee retention.
