I have been working at Texas Instruments full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Good people, good benefits and salary (if you rank high enough), eligible for profit sharing and bonus in the same year

Cons

institutionalized use of "rank and yank", constant cost focus distracting from real work

Advice to Management

Put more emphasis on efficient operations and promote engineers instead of sales people to top positions. The sales people currently running some of the business units don't know what it takes to design a chip, just what it takes to sell it.
