I worked at Texas Instruments full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Diversity of the workforce and the diversity of assignments that you could work on were very broad.

Cons

It tends to be very internally focused, not as open to outside ideas and inputs and might be beneficial.

Advice to Management

Don't give up on basic research. TI has a great history of building products that came out of the central research function and I'm afraid that that innovative streak is declining.
