Pros

Fairly relaxed work environment with little overtime required. The company is supportive of life outside of work, especially when it comes to illness and sickness.

Cons

Promotions tend to be based on time served rather than on merit of one's work; sometimes busy work is used as a means to evaluate.

    Pros

The flex work week is a huge perk, it is so nice to have every other Friday off.
    The work is challenging

    Cons

This company runs very thin. They never over-staff. They burn out their employees. Morale is extremely low. It is the good old boys' network, and if you are not in a clique, you will not move up.

Also the company is now headquartered in Charlotte, NC, trying to run two businesses, in Barberton OH and Lynchburg Virginia. There is very little synergy between the two locations. The company is not mature enough to manage itself remotely.

The Health benefits are too costly and you do not get much for them. The annual raises are typically less than 4%.

    Advice to Management

Hire more help, quit doing things on the "cheap".

    Pros

Flextime, good pay, good workers, people try to help each other, experienced workforce, captive customer on the government side

    Cons

Poor upper mgmt for last few years, no clear future for the fossil power side, good ole boy network, too political at management level

    Advice to Management

    Bring in some outside blood
