I worked at The Goddard School full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The children and families is what keeps the teachers at the school. The teachers themselves are close and provide the much needed support to each other.

    Cons

Minimal pay for preschool teaching. Minimal benefits. Extremely high turn over rate. No support provided for curriculum writing, issues in the classroom, etc. Teachers opinions and insight does not matter to the owner or directors. The owner has no teaching experience and solely makes decisions and how to make the most money. He treats employees terrible as if they should be lucky to be working for him. Do not work their because soon enough you will be looking for a new job because you want to get out.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees BETTER, make decisions based on the best interest of children and not solely money.

I have been working at The Goddard School full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The children and families are amazing, loving and very helpful. Luckily most of the teaching staff is amazing and helps each other out as much as possible.

    Cons

The management is very self centered, if a teacher needs anything for their classroom or any help at all the management will either give you a very hard time before actually helping you out, make you feel bad for needing help, or just simply not help you at all. The owner is strictly after money only and does not care about the wellbeing or happiness of the kids. For how much money the parents put into this company, they have to bring their own food for their kids, often bring supplies for the teachers because the owner does not supply enough supplies for his over enrolled classrooms, and the teachers are very underpaid with awful benefits that many cannot afford. The grass in the yard is so dead it is practically just dirt and weeds, the bee problems in the yard is outrageous, several kids every summer get stung repeatedly, the waterplay is a joke where the children can get sprayed by a hose if they want to get wet, there is no water toys or water tables for them to explore with. The classrooms do not have enough educational toys for the children and also keep the same toys in the classroom all year long so the children tend to get tired of playing with the same things day after day. They have a very high teacher turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Update your classroom toys and supplies monthly, keep the childrens well-beings in mind at all times, treat your employees the way you would want someone to treat you.
