I worked at The Habitat Company full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Continuing education paid for by the company. They used to value the residents and really push customer service.

Cons

Discriminatory practices by the HR dept. Upper management looks at most employees as a piece of furniture they can, and will replace at their whim. You will not be able to move up in the company to their so called market rate properties unless you fit their undisclosed standards (white and thin).

Advice to Management

Treat your employees as the human beings they are regardless of race/ethnicity or what type of property they are employed by.

I worked at The Habitat Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Room for Advancement
    Benefits
    Work/Life Balance

    Cons

No real cons for the company itself. Like most companies it's all politics if you want to advance. Put your best foot forward and you may be recognized. I worked with a manager who micro-managed and it drove me insane to the point that I quit. If you're a hard worker, it doesn't help to work with lazy co workers who believe my work is my work and your work is your work, unless they need assistance.

    Advice to Management

Be a manager, your job is to delegate tasks and not force other employees who are not in managerial roles to play manager, their peers will not respect a delegated task from their other peer. Also offer more incentives in the form of bonuses etc.
