Pros

* Great People
* Middle managment are easy to talk to
* Work week is generally Mon-Thur and not required to come to the office on Fridays
* IP is really good in some areas and it is very informative

Cons

* Constantly changing perfromance review process
* Practice managment constantly changing because COO lacks committment to retaining talented people. In the COO's mind you are just a number that can be easily replaced despite the fact that organizationally we advocate talent management.
* Organization does not practice what it preaches with regards to Best Practices

Advice to Management

Learn what talent managment and talent retention "really" mean.

    Pros

    - Coworkers are very intelligent, fun, easygoing
    - Lots of effort put into team building and creating a good office culture (team building events, office events, etc)
    - Flat organization, easy to approach senior management and speak with them
    - A place where personal initiatives are recognized and rewarded
    - Entrepreneurial

    Cons

    - Getting good projects is a crapshoot, and there are more boring, tedious projects than there are exciting ones
    - Quickly becoming an operations consultancy rather than a Strategy and Operations consultancy
    - Management doesn't seem to have a clear direction for the firm
    - Little guidance from upper management - you have to take the first step for everything, not enough formalized structure
    - Very political

    Advice to Management

    Concentrate on the consultants needs and growth as well as the firms. Ensure a good balance of projects that are there just for the cash flow, and projects that are actually help consultants grow and learn.

    Pros

    Excellent project management. Every project I worked on finished on time and on budget, with high customer satisfaction. The project managers know what they are doing.

    Cons

    Poor marketing. Senior management (CEO, President) shifted strategy away from project work to subscriptions, leaving a lot of good business on the table. The senior folks were rigid when reviewing some very worthwhile projects, losing them to other companies even though the projects would have produced significant cash flow.

    Advice to Management

    Set up a structure to take advantage of the opportunities in project work.
