I worked at The Hershey Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Fair salary for the job duties & excellent benefits. Ability to earn 15 hours of overtime each week for a total of a 55 hour work week.

    Cons

Lots of driving often 500 miles a week. No help out at retail. Building displays and stocking shelves all on your own. To many responsibilities out at retail with no help to get them done. This is especially true during the seasons. Halloween & Easter are the worst. Little room for advancement. To much emphasis is placed on computer applications & not enough emphasis is placed on developing the skills of... each RSR. It is also difficult managing the time at Walmart’s vs the time in food accounts. Retail Execution Meetings are repetitive & a waste of time & resources since the information is already available in the e-mails which are sent out ahead of time. The majority of time is spent at Walmart trying to get the management to do their jobs and get the shelves stocked.

    Advice to Management

Invest more time & resources into the sales force & not sales applications.

I worked at The Hershey Company for less than a year

    Pros

The people there were all really nice, and willing to help you or talk to you. The company culture was very laid back, and was an enjoyable place to work. There also was always chocolate around.

    Cons

The biggest con is honestly the location. As a young person, there is not a lot in Hershey to do.
