Current Employee - Senior Functional Configurator in Austin, TX
Recommends
Approves of CEO

Pros

Working for a reputed and established Retailer. Convenient work location; good work enviornment. Minimal travelling needs for the job.

Cons

Limited advancement oppurtunity in the Austin location. Some times it is difficult to stick with the technology you want as the company needs changes from time to time; get opportunites to be jack of all trades, but master of none.

Advice to Management

Right now the company is relying on consulting companies and offshore on most of its technical expertise. I would recommend THD to enhance skills of their technical experts and use/ hire more THD. This can be made possible if THD don't swing between 100 differnt technologies which needs a new skill set each time.

Current Employee - Department Supervisor in New York, NY
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Its a job. Customers for the most part are honest decent people. Benefits are good. Vacation time is competitive. When you bonus it is a nice plus.

    Cons

Starting pay is low. Raises are low. Metrics for staffing leaves alot to be desired. Hours are flexible for the company, not for the employees. Just deal with it, is not an answer, neither is thats just the way it is.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the people who are taking care of the business - not the ones who are brown nosers. The new programs you roll out should have input from the people in the stores - actual people who work on the sales floor.
