I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

helping & satisfying customers needs so they will come back to shop

Cons

unqualified management who like to constantly verbally threaten associates

Advice to Management

please screen your ASM's more before promoting. Some seem to be on a "power trip", and constantly try to intimidate both male & female associates.

I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Associates are friendly. Choice of a 30 minute lunch or hour lunch. Paid holidays, vacation and sick days, two 15 minute breaks. Can change departments when positions are open.

    Cons

Long hours standing, rude customers, smart phone not working, not enough people scheduled in some departments to many in others and no set shifts for full time associates means less time for your family. Associates staying on long breaks while other associates not getting a break. No overtime.

    Advice to Management

Treat associates fairly and encourage them. Enforce rules. Set shifts for full time associates.

I worked at The Home Depot part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great with school scheduling, easy to transfer if needed,

    Cons

Lack of respect for associates that have 5+ years, promotions are based of availablity, pay isn't that great for all the work.

    Advice to Management

Let associates that have been there a long time get more pay and first pick on vacation time. Let associates work the hours they want
