I have been working at The Home Depot full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Great people who really take care of each other
Community involvement
Diverse workforce
Bonus
Work/Life Balance

Cons

Horrible Medical Benefits - Cost
Management is concerned with their own agenda

Advice to Management

Listen to the talent that you hired, that is why you hired them. Stop thinking that your idea is the only one that is right and embrace the ideas of others on the team. Benefits really need attention and better options because the cost to the employee is staggering for individuals and those with families. Invest in training that will make the employees better and do a better job at career pathing for associates who love the company and want to progress within it.

I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Maintain active lifestyle as opposed to sitting at a desk, that is if your the type of person who goes to work and works, most who work here do not.

    Cons

Low pay, inconsistent and widely varying hours, poor work ethic among co-workers.

    Advice to Management

Reduce pay and increase number of assistant managers after mastering all areas of pk, add areas for customers electronically to request assistance and tie that to the first phone using gps or rfid or better yet upgrade to tablets... its 2013, don't route phone calls to the floor and force cashiers to field questions with the assistance of a computer.
