I have been working at The Home Depot part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You'll have time off and plenty of it.Too bad

    Cons

You have lots of time off, because there are few hours available, although they are always crying about store standards after their "walkthroughs." These are when the Managers and head district mgrs. for corporate emerge from their offices and complain about boxes conditions in a store they haven't bothered to staff adequately. We lost 6 people this week that were tired of being "squeezed" for more work output. People here are tired of it. I'm guessing it won't get any better till they have employees with signs out front. This is NOT an enjoyable place to work, generally The equipment is beat down and poorly maintained. The phone/computers we use for inventory mostly are in disrepair, the lift equipment needs batteries, etc.

    Advice to Management

I'd offer some if I thought for one minute that they cared for any advice. They know what they're doing and they don't really care about turnover
.All that talk of family and values is just that.Talk.
Save the reply "home depot shill-bot" about calling some number for a remedy .
     I don't buy that for a second.It's a circus act.
The people who come into stores from corporate need to start actually fixing some things that are broken and do their jobs, which is not to show up and browbeat store staff .
