    Advice to Management

Many people stay at JH because it’s comfortable not because they are skilled, ambitious, focused, motivated or care about their jobs they do or the field they’re in. The organization allows some departments, division, and staff to do WHATEVER they want to do and are NEVER held accountable. There is no mentoring, a lot of back-biting and professional character deformations. Many leaders in the organization are allowed to continue to run their department into the ground without vision, knowledge or tack. It is an unpleasant place to work many and when concerns are expressed by employees, management seem to have their hands tied and take the deer in head lights approach to problem solving. Send in secret shopper to view different departments, divisions and off campus locations to find the truth. Work Class is not having a boat load of unhappy employees. You should take complaints more seriously!

I worked at The Johns Hopkins Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Patients receive excellent care from dedicated staff. Learning experiences and listening to patient stories and lives made going to work a lesson in life and understanding.

    Cons

Work day sometimes extends from 12 hours to 13+. I never mind doing what my patients need. Can become frustrating when it is due to staff showing up a few minutes late and not getting to work to relieve the previous shift.
