I have been working at The Mars Agency full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Fast-paced, room to think, mobility, awesome culture, work/life balance, MARS is in a lot of different cities and continues to expand, INDEPENDENT company helps it be agile, quick and responsive to the marketplace. Bonuses are great, pay is there and loyalty pays off. Managers listen and care, upper management is absent of greed and truly care about the people of this company

Cons

Structure - constant growing and expanding environment can cause some confusing moments in office politics and can shift around your direct reports, workload etc.

830 start time (though becoming more flexible)

You will always have more work on your plate than you can reasonably tackle

Sometimes the friendly environment removes professionalism and people share things they shouldn't/whine/make excuses etc.

This isn't a "con" for everyone, but this is not an environment for the weak. If you aren't always working as hard as you can and you take things personally, you will not succeed here.

I have been working at The Mars Agency full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The entrepreneurial culture means that if you have an idea, you get to try it out. The relatively small size means you get to do meaningful work where you can see the connection to the overall goals of the company, and you have continuous exposure to top leaders. The company is a leader in Shopper Marketing; no better place to learn or hone those skills.

    Cons

There is not a lot of structure for training and career development -- you have to be assertive about setting and achieving your goals, but the rewards are there when you are willing to do that work. Salaries, benefits, and time off are on the low side, but still competitive.

    Advice to Management

Continue to look for ways to attract top talent -- through competitive salaries and benefits and by increasing opportunities for career planning and development.

I have been working at The Mars Agency full-time

    Pros

Clients are great, they really treat you like you are part of their team and not an outside agency

    Cons

So many. Culture is toxic. The recruiting process is very sugar coated, once employed you realize what a mistake you've made. Pitching new clients is at the expense of the existing retained clients.

    Advice to Management

The reputation of Mars Advertising is tainted in CPG world.
