I worked at The North Face part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The people I worked with were amazing. The employee discount (50%) was better than any other retail store I've worked for before. The company seemed pretty easy going and where super lenient on returns and warranties which was nice because I didn't have to deal with angry customers often.

Cons

The only downside the working at The North Face is that unless it is during the holidays, you will most likely have pretty limited hours.

I have been working at The North Face part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Make above minimum wage, busy during the winter season, products are easy to sell and understand.

    Cons

Slow during the spring season, most time is spent standing around, which at times is unbelievably boring. During the holiday season customers tend to lose their sense of public formalities and can be very rude.

    Advice to Management

Make the schedule in advance not at the last minute

I worked at The North Face part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I thoroughly enjoyed getting up and going into to work everyday because my fellow employees were laid back and friendly. I actually became great friends with a few of my co-workers. The management was laid back as well and very easy to communicate with. Making a shift change or requesting a day off was never a big deal.

    Cons

Management needs to work on communication and transparency. When I asked a question I always received different answers from different managers. TNF corporate can do a better job of making employees feel like people instead of numbers.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more effectively with staff. A manager at a TNF store should be the epitome of a "people person."
