I worked at The Pinnacle Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Willing to teach, co-workers like family. Exposure to many businesses and technologies. Down to earth owner and VPs. This employer can nurture you from entry level and help you learn the skills to advance. You must be a willing learner and step outside your comfort zone to do well.

Cons

Smaller company (some would not consider this a "Con")
Limited potential for growth in some departments

Advice to Management

Invest in infrastructure to avoid falling behind

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Small company, relatively low stress and able to easily work around personal life and emergencies. Great company to get a couple years experience to pad your resume.

    Cons

Meager benefits, salary is way below regional norms, very political and "clickish", way too many managers for the size of the company, feedback is not considered from the workers as they make suggestions or requests in order to meet goals. Jr to Sr developers will be hurt professionally by the antiquated technologies used, unless moving into a first time architect or manager position.

    Advice to Management

Close the Indiana, Florida, and Argentina offices, esp when you freeze salaries for 2+ years. Doesn't make sense to have some employees working VPN yet keep these offices running (with all the overhead involved) and hardly any staff in any of them.

    Pros

Pinnacle provideds good flexibility and the people are great to work with. They have a family oriented culture and provide good work-life balance. They treat their employees fair, and I felt as though they do what they can to help people out by providing educational reimbursement and providing other opportunities.

    Cons

Pinnacle is a relatively small company, so it does not have the same resources that a larger corporation might have. The family oriented work-life balance focus is both good and bad, and at times can be frustrating when something needs to get done but nobody is around after 5 pm. Some of the benefits are not as good as larger companies.

    Advice to Management

Take a long view perspective in terms of training and purchasing tools for employees
