I worked at The Resort at Pelican Hill part-time (More than a year)

Pros

You don't have to do your own laundry, you just show up and they have it ready and ironed for you; you can eat free food at the cafeteria if you're into that kind of food; it looks good on a resume.

Cons

I worked at the coliseum: Bad management, too military-like, if you work at that restauraunt you feel like NOTHING to the company, long sleeve button up/tie/slacks in the HOT summer sun working 7 days a week and overtime, the normal shift hours were NOT normal, they were 8 hour shifts and so on.....

Advice to Management

Treat employes at the coliseum with more respect and gratefulness because we worked harrrrd long hours out in the hot sun 7 days a week during summer

I worked at The Resort at Pelican Hill part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good hourly pay, OK tips, great coworkers. The employee cafeteria, free on-site dry cleaning, and locker room were nice perks too.

    Cons

Management doesn't really care about you. Very high employee turnover rate. You will be scheduled under 40 hours on paper so they don't have to give you benefits, but you actually work over 40 hours regularly. Supervisors give you a hard time over dumb stuff just to flex their authority over you. They always seem to schedule the fewest possible employees to save money even though the resort is making a fortune and end up getting slammed and it's a total nightmare. The employee parking lot would get full in the summer, forcing you to park a mile down the road. Management always encounters the same problems and doesn't do anything to fix them and are not very open to suggestions. The place wasn't as clean and sanitary as you would think either.

    Advice to Management

Realize your employees are human beings and not slaves. Have a soul and a conscience.
