Pros

Close interaction with customers
Small and friendly work environment
Advancement to management is very much possible
Store discounts!
Commission and spiffs

Cons

Work infrastructure can be disorganized
E-Training means training on your own time

Advice to Management

When hiring new workers, add an additional sales associate to show how things are done and allow new workers to do e-training like how Starbucks does it. (SBX allows new workers to spend an entire shift doing courses)

I have been working at The Source full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Very high pay for a retail job (though this is only the case at very few of the stores nationwide)
-Get to play around with some interesting technology (latest phones/some neat gadgets)

    Cons

Completely incompetent store manager in my experience, though my District Sales Manager is very knowledgeable in the few instances we get to meet with him. Having to outright lie to customers on a daily basis in order to keep up sales and various other requirements like email collection is quite dispiriting. It is not possible to maintain these figures while keeping the consumers interests a priority, regardless of what management tries to tell you. Most of the products in the store are completely junk, which makes it very difficult for me to recommend a solution.

    Advice to Management

Hire competent store managers that are actually familiar with technology. My manager can barely operate a cell phone, while simultaneously having to "help" customers with these devices on a daily basis. This results in a sales associate, often with another customer, having to take over. This hurts sales and frustrates customers who often end up walking out when it is busy. Not being able to get any reliable answers from management for questions regarding Cellular/Bell TV does not help either.
