I worked at The White House as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You work with the most most intelligent group of people--interns and staff--around.
The culture: Almost everyone in the administration makes a point to let interns know how much their hard work is appreciated.

    Cons

    No stipend
    Housing is pricy

    Advice to Management

Some offices have young, inexperienced management. Guide them in their transition.

    Pros

Up close and personal with current events, but pressure cooker environment with little respect from political appointees. Get to be involved with the headlines and participate in high level decisions.

    Cons

Dont always have full picture from higher level staff. Difficult to be unaware of political considerations and whims of the Admministration.

    Advice to Management

    Respect staff time
