I have been working at The World Bank as a contractor (More than 5 years)

Pros

Interesting work and people. Nice to work on projects that make a difference. Great variety of issues and locations where projects take place.

Cons

Contracts may not lead to work as projects can end before scope is completed. Sometimes difficult to get additional contract work.

Advice to Management

Invest in the network of independent contractors as they add greatly to the capability of the organization.
