I have been working at The World Bank part-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Good Benefit and buildings
Interesting projects
Can work with some real intellgience people in the field

Cons

- Very complex work enviorment and relationship
- not clear responsibilities of units and accountability.
- too much relationship impact the work assignmemt and result
- political game is the everywhere, and become a hidden cultrue.

Advice to Management

just be fair to your team member

    Pros

    Feels like a mini UN. Great opportunities for growth. Everyone is so smart and capable. Amazing cafeteria. Helping the world to be a better place.

    Cons

    Too much bureaucracy!
    Takes a long time to get the job. Interview process is so slow and painful. Took me one year to get the job.

    Pros

    There are very good teams, it is possible to actually balance work and life, international environment, lots of opportunities to learn, network and travel. A great mission and good culture.

    Cons

    There are units/teams you really don't want to work with. Bureaucracy can be a killer of creativity, innovation and motivation. Limited career opportunities.

    Advice to Management

    Make life better for everyone improving HR practices and IT systems! Consider attracting younger talents to the organization.
