I have been working at Things Remembered part-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

There are generally good products, and lovely customer clientele. Engraving in enjoyable, and the staff is generally good people to work with.

Cons

There seems to be only negative reinforcement from the upper tiers of management and the corporate office. Making goals and bonus? They change the way bonuses are given and goals are calculated.

I worked at Things Remembered full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

engraving things and learning new things! The pay was good and the benefits reasonable.

    Cons

Jewelry turns colors and or breaks. You can image how happy people are when they found out that their memorial item is trash after a year! I've been screamed at by any number of dissatisfied customers because of low quality products sold to them as lifetime memories that are not lasting longer then a year.
You have to push junk clocks and extra engraving charges that are forever increasing. High turnover! They charge for a loyalty card that if the customer doesn't buy.... every time they come in they are hounded about. Nobody at the home office has considered the number of customers turned off by this insane practice. People know what they are being charged and dont like the increases this too has driven away business. Im not against loyalty cards but at least make them free with a large purchase. I would not shop here because Ive seen too many bad products and working here was a huge disappointment. Christmas is a nightmare.

    Advice to Management

fire all the home office people they are clueless!

I have been working at Things Remembered part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

encountering different people everyday. learning new stuff about sales. learning how to engrave. Getting A LOT OF MONEY during Xmas. Helping people out. And finally making the minimum of 20 words for this section.

    Cons

A lot of fragile stuff. A lot of housekeeping.

    Advice to Management

hire a few high quality people instead of dozens. and get them at least 3 hours a week.
