Pros

Can make decent money if you hit quotas. However the company decides to raise quotas by 10-12% every year because that is the growth they have promised corporate. They do this without taking into account that the market is very competitive and that they haven't come up with new solutions/products that will lead to the new growth they want. This leads people to try and be creative in the way they make thei "number", which is reviewed ad nauseum by managers on a daily and weekly basis.

Cons

Shrinking industry with intense competition

Advice to Management

Realize that the market is much more competitive than they realize

    Pros

Market leader well respected significant resources. Good benefit package. West is a tremendously successful company.

    Cons

Slow moving culture and at times very political. Eagan MN location has tremendous resources but is very hard to accomplish anything due to MN culture. Compensation is fair, however superstar performers are not capable of driving for higher compensation.

    Advice to Management

Move more quicklyto enable pan Thomson oppty's. Be more entreprenurial. Condier remote locations for senior executives.

    Pros

Great people. Great Hours. Great brand recognition/ name.

    Cons

They are over-reacting to the recession and therefore undervaluing and taking advantage of their employees.

    Advice to Management

Take a few management courses... you shouldn't promise things you can't deliver... even if they are "unofficial."
