I worked at Thomson Reuters full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Bright, intelligent, well educated co-workers. The recently redecorated areas of the building are visually stunning. The good managers are some of the best you will ever work for. Coffee shop, bank, 2 cafeterias onsite.

Cons

Lots of management reorganization and belt tightening over the past 4 years. TR considers itself a middle of the road payer which in reality translates to pay being on the low side. And this leads to a fair amount of turnover in certain positions. Parking lots are huge and even with the shuttle bus it will add 10-15 minutes to your day unless you arrive very early.

Advice to Management

Listen more to your employees.

    Pros

Benefits package is very good. Part of the larger Thomson Reuters business. Product line has a lot of potential. Generally modest work hours.

    Cons

Company has a history of a lot of management turn over. Consequently there are vacuums of leadership in many areas. Many projects lack authoritative accountabiity.

    Advice to Management

Hire higher quality managers and developers.

I worked at Thomson Reuters full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Overall it is a good place to work for. The immediate manager knows the project at hand and very knowledgeable and the work place offers a friendly environment.

    Cons

The company is downsizing and offer unstable job environment. And the lay offs are based on head counts and most IT positions are seem as expenses. There is no training which will offer career growth within the company. It is just a job and not a career.

    Advice to Management

Upper managers need to provide more training and do more in keeping talents.
