Pros

The level of professionalism among the employees is quite high, especially among those with law degrees who are choosing a different career path. The company offers a number of interesting jobs that allow someone with a legal education to leverage their degree and experience in new and exciting ways while still working within the legal community.

Cons

The tenor of the company has changed greatly in the last few years, largely since being acquired by Thomson. An increased focus on metrics-driven leadership has eroded the level of collaboration among departments, because everyone is spending too much time justifying their own existence rather than finding ways to work together.

Advice to Management

If customers truly are at the heart of everything, then align your resources in such a fashion. Put your people in front of those customers instead of creating such a high level of organizational and operational complexity that their needs are never truly met.

    Pros

The communication and HR are second to none. You are really taken care of as an employee and the benefits are top-notch.

    Cons

Because of the vast size of this global company, your never get accustomed to the whole team as it is constantly changing and evolving.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, make them feel as if their input is taken into consideration to better the company.

    Pros

Interesting, cutting-edge products. Good work-life balance. Good health insurance.

    Cons

Limited career advancement/rotation opportunities. Employee pay lower than market. On a less serious note - it's a really long walk from the parking lot, especially in the winter.
