Pros

flexible hours, great fellow employees

Cons

Management had no clear direction and would change policy and direction with the wind. Job titles and positions changed regularly but the job and work stayed the same.

Advice to Management

Get a direction or course and stick to it. Make products and services simple easy to use. Be the best in the area you want to compete in versus we have good content ....... content is King but so is ease of use getting to the information.

    Pros

    Many of the people - from sales to editorial - are smart, creative, and fun to work with. The online service is amazing and very helpful to lawyers, and the service is constantly evolving and getting better, responding to the market's needs.

    Cons

    Since the Thomson Reuters acquisition things have definitely changed - time will tell for sure, but it appears that some of the innovation and culture/spirit of Practical Law is being lost. Also, much of the original Practical Law leadership is/was not necessarily qualified to be running the place, made poor, uninformed decisions, and promoted each other and protected one another without regard to the bigger picture.

    Advice to Management

    Look closely at the talented people you have on board - promote them, and give them the freedom to continue making Practical Law the innovative product it is. Retain the integrity of the original service and the editors who have made it what it is.
