Pros

I enjoy the work-from-home environment coupled with in-person events. Budget wise, you could definitely tell that our last in-person event was scaled back from previous events, but regardless, I was glad to see my team in person.

Cons

The Trust and Safety Department is a sinking ship and I'd highly urge anyone to NOT consider employment here. Though it might not even be an option for you, because they are taking the cheap route and offshoring everything to the Philippines lately. What used to be a role with autonomy and the freedom to make the best choices for our users has now become a robotic non-personal department that cares more about standardization than about the individual user experience. It's hard to take a Quality Department seriously who is located in the Philippines, does not understand the culture of the United States and our customers, and who has never actually done our work before auditing us and telling us how to work. It's frustrating to have Senior Leaders support the Quality efforts, and not stand behind the specialists who have been loyal to Thumbtack for years in hearing and taking our concerns seriously. Our managers can only do so much for us. Overall, the lack of support, heartless standardization efforts, and "quantity VS quality" efforts of moving the majority of things over to the Philippines leaves little to be desired of the Trust & Safety Department. I am actively seeking other employment opportunities, and I know I am not the only one.
