I have been working at Tim Hortons part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

-learning to work with a variety of different situations
-the people
-getting into habit of always being productive

Cons

-hours (only worked 8 hour shifts)
-management (didn't care for anyone, doesn't care to fix anything)
-absolutely exhausting (half hour break with 8 hour shift, and no break for 5 hours or less. on your feet constantly with no breaks sucks)
-uniforms (hot environment with thick uniforms is not pleasant)
-work environment (crowded, hot, smells, not clean)

Advice to Management

Treat the employees with more respect. we work harder than you do

I have been working at Tim Hortons part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Some free food
    Make decent tips

    Cons

    Terrible hours (open 24/7).
    Always understaffed
Not paid by time clock- paid by the hours on the schedule. Meaning if you stay late you don't get paid for it unless you chase management.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees and maybe you will be able to keep them

I worked at Tim Hortons full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I really like some of the employees and the customers are what kept me coming in everyday for 4 years.

    Cons

Management at tim horton's is ridiculously unorganized...at least where i was. They have no consideration for employee rights and favoritism is out of control. They often won't give you breaks, or they make you work on your breaks. Make employees cry on storefront with belittling and criticism. Their only priority is paperwork and inspections. They even fake the paperwork. Just as long as it gets done and the DM sees it. It doesnt matter if ACTUAL food checks were done, just as long as it looks done. Constantly short staffed because the owners nickel and dime everything. They keep expired food and don't follow Tim Hortons regulations when it comes to food safety. They let people work alone all night long when there is supposed to be two people there. Even the police in town are concerned.

    Advice to Management

Corporate should have a better understanding of what goes on in some of their stores. Who the management team is and what they stand for.
