I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Excellent growth potential for your hourly rate as long as you meet metrics.

Cons

The company 5 years ago prided itself on not doing any layoffs. Now they are taking an axe to anyone within a certain range who no longer meets their needs instead of giving them a chance to re-class into another suitable position or transfer to a location where they are needed. People who have been loyal to the company for 35 years suddenly just get a pink slip and a severance package and a kick in the butt out the door. After 35 years with a single company, the severance is alright and ability to keep your pension is a nice touch but what about loyalty to your employees?

Advice to Management

Keep the knowledgeable people around and get rid of any hints of cronyism and nepotism in your ranks.

    Advice to Management

For use to remain competitive we need to stay rooted in a technical corridor as an organization, not Charlotte, NC.
