I have been working at Time Warner Cable full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Pays well. New commission structure is fantastic. Free cable & internet. Great health insurance. After one year of working at a 24-7 company got weekends off. Friendly atmosphere. Free onsite gym. Extra incentives for working overtime.

Cons

Constantly changing supervisors/teams and having to learn the ways (personality) of each new supervisor who has their own way of doing things. Making policy changes on a weekly basis without the benefit of consulting the frontline people who are the ones in the trenches dealing with the backlash. If a customer calls back within 3 days of calling it affects call center agents negatively, possibly resulting in a write-up. Too many write-ups and you will be terminated, no matter how long you have been there or how good you are at all the other aspects of your job. Conversely, stay on a call too long and there will be a lead standing behind you asking why. It is a call center, right?? It takes a long time to learn how to deal with rude, angry, entitled customers, like the ones who feel there certainly must be a technician in the area who can come replace their cable box right this instant or they will miss tonight's riveting episode of "Atlanta Housewives". We have no direct communication with dispatch or the techs and have no idea what poles they are currently dangling from.

Advice to Management

More communication with your frontline. After all, we are the face and voice of the company.

I have been working at Time Warner Cable full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Cable is 44 dollars a month...through employee discount you can also receive 30% off att cellular phone bil l (and discounts with other providers)...PTO is respected and the only good thing is you get paid every week (sales check once a month on top of weekly base salary)...benefits are 15 dollars a week for full coverage other than that the job was awful

    Cons

Everything...no work life balance at all had to work 3-12 or day shift (11-8) including weekends; will not change your schedule for school or tragic life event (I had a wake and they did not care at all)...management plays extreme favorites they don't like you you are stuck on the phone no matter how well your doing...my supervisor could not speak English for their life...they do not care about their employees at all they want you on the phone and to sell on every call even when the customer is irate...they don't give their own employees opportunities to move up they promote from elsewhere and do not give their own agents consideration in interviews...if your okay staying bottom level and want to show up and collect a check with good benefits then this job is for you

    Advice to Management

Give agents a chance to believe they can move up...everyone in the call center felt they were stuck (because management just saw them as a number that logged in) and don't stress sales customers were not calling for more service they called because they could not stand the service or there was a problem

I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

discount on services and working with good people. Benefits are good.

    Cons

Management/team leads mainly have no clue or expect the impossible from you. Customers will curse you daily for things beyond your control. Working holidays is horrible. If you are sick... even vomiting at your desk... you will be wrote up if you call off or ask to leave. When hired you are also told sales is an option... this is not true. You must maintain a certain goal or again you will be wrote up.

    Advice to Management

    Retrain yourselves with every change.
