Pros

They do have good commission rates for each sale, and are willing to work with you as much as necessary to teach you to sell if you don't already have a style of your own.

Cons

The commission could be a small fortune per sale, but if you're selling for a cable company that has been in your area for over a decade, and everyone has already used their services and moved on, making that sale can be really tough. Biggest problem is the confusion over a 'contractor' and an 'employee'. TNT will hire you as a contractor, which means no hourly wage or benefits, but want to treat you as an employee- having mandatory unpaid meetings in other cities, giving sales quotas, etc. They are based in Houston, TX and so they say that is all based on Texas labor laws, but I was working in Florida, and as I understand it if you are required to drive to the nearest 'big' city to attend a mandatory meeting for several hours, in Florida you are entitled to some sort of compensation. And saying that 'if you want your paycheck, you can pick it up at the meeting' doesn't count!

Advice to Management

Be aware of labor laws in the area you're doing business, and compensate your Sales Representatives for their time and gas when you require them to use their personal vehicle to attend meetings 'out of town'.

    Pros

Amazing pay for the amount of effort put in. Flexible schedule. A lot of tax write offs. Great educational system in place. A lot of support from management to get anything needed to complete the job.

    Cons

Company has some negative flaws that need to be worked out by management. For some reason it feels as though the job is a dime a dozen job, even though it pays twice as much as the average U.S. citizen makes at an entry level position.

    Advice to Management

Make the job feel as worthwhile as the pay.

I worked at TnT Direct Sales Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You make your own hours and there are no commission caps, Management usually makes large bonuses readily available.

    Cons

It is a commission based job so you need to come to terms with the fact that if you don't make any sales, you don't make any money.

    Advice to Management

Clean house and get rid of poisonous employees even if they are good at the job. They are stopping you from having more able-minded employees.
