Pros

Great support systems, reinforces principles that can apply to all aspects of life, great leadership training, wonderful products to sell, great net-worth building opportunities with stock, 401K and profit sharing.

Cons

Long hours in the beginning, learning how to work with high-level executives can be challenging in the beginning, learning how to set goals and master my emotions.

Advice to Management

Continue to invest in IT and upgrading our internet services to better support the salespeople.

I have been working at Tom James Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great office culture
Fun to not be in an office all day
    make you own schedule

    Cons

The company promises 100k your first year but fails to inform you that only 25% of the company even earns that much. In real situations you are looking at between 30-40 your first year. And thats before health insurance, 401K, clothing allowance, and all of your expenses for doing business (which you are not reimburse for). If you do not start off strong out of the gate, its you not them. It can't be that your leadership is laking or that the trusted "system" is a joke. You didn't work hard enough is the common response
    EARLY MORNINGS
    LATE NIGHTS
    complete commission
    selfish leadership
a base that won't even keep the lights on

    Advice to Management

increase your base and train the leadership better.

I worked at Tom James Company full-time

    Pros

gain experience that translates well to a lot of other sales settings. Company does a great job of teaching you goal setting and hard work. Get to work with successful people and build great connections. Great reward trips and opportunity to make good money from the first month if you have a good start.

    Cons

it is a constant hustle, every month it starts over from the beginning (straight commissions) and people tend to burn out . Very high turn over since the people that are actually successful from the get go are few and far between, but sales for the company stay constant since other reps will just take over the clients of people that left. Required to constantly be face for company for mistakes, timing issues, etc, which leads to a lot of apologizing and begging for sales.

    Advice to Management

take better care of your employees, consider reimbursing for expenses, and get more support for factories
