Pros

There are excellent, dedicated people at TPS. Most people are willing to go above and beyond to achieve results. Lots of freedom.

Cons

Poor communication from management. Often, the expected results and objectives are not articulated. There is not enough focus on long term, big picture issues.

Advice to Management

Better management skills are required. Better communication and more focus on the long term and not simply short term results.

I worked at Topcon Positioning Systems full-time

    Pros

The company is awesome, the people are awesome. There are people that have been there a long time, so that speaks highly of a company. The atmosphere arounds holidays was fun - lots of events, lots of employee appreciation.

    Cons

When it comes to management, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. They claim to have an open-door policy, but there's also no confidentiality. One-on-One conversations behind closed doors with management somehow made it's way out into the open. Additionally, there was no potential for growth. All projects were slow-moving.
