    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    Flexibility
    Free Health Club Use
Most staff work there because they are dedicated to the members.

    Cons

    Dirty
Little communication between upper management and employees
    Lack of respect towards employees
    Poor Leadership
Upper Management does not have a good grasp of the product they are selling.

    Advice to Management

There should be advancement opportunities in all departments. Stop trying to eliminate employees that have have been dedicated to the company for more than ten years to save a buck. Charging customers more while taking services away will ultimately lead to membership cancellations. Upper management needs to lead better overall.

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

A lot of club locations, members are great and the group fitness managers do a fantastic job coordinating all the various classes and teachers. They are on the front line providing a caring and friendly environment for all: members and instructors.

    Cons

Removing the Group Fitness Coordinator will create even more distance between instructors and a management that is always changing. Fitness instructors are not respected by management. They will often go over the head of the Group Fitness Coordinator and take a class away from a popular instructor to give it to a less qualified person because that person is a friend of management. Members' wishes and likes are totally ignored. The management stresses the 'team player" approach...only as long as they need you. They can change and cancel classes without notice. This is not an uplifting environment and does not foster a team spirit. I know that most of the instructors feel that way and that only the members make it worth while to teach at TSI.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers who have people skills. Have "secret shops" in the classes of each instructors and rate their efforts and use this information to reward the good teachers. Once the members pass the front desk, the most important people of TSI are the creative group and personal teachers. Do not only listen to 1 or 2 members who are dissatisfied. Get anonymous reviews from the members who actually take the classes and know the instructor. Basically take a poll from your members. Satisfied members rarely communicate with the club unless asked to do so.
