I worked at Town and Country Hospital full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Overall a good experience, very fast paced, patient turnover on post operative unit quick, as most patients discharged the next morning. You may start with 5-6 patients and end up with 4 new ones in one day-exhausting. A lot of times a nurse was dedicated for discharges, but you had to do all admissions-a lengthy process.

Cons

Everyone, especially housekeeping staff, always talked in Spanish among themselves, very unprofessional.

Advice to Management

Do not make promises you can not keep.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Town and Country Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The nurses aren't that good but they are learning. When mistakes are made, they try to get the education to keep them from making the same mistakes again.

    Cons

They force patients to go to other hospitals when we can't do the surgeries or other things here. They have a transfer center and the transfer center (located in Miami) makes arrangements for a transfer, they ignore the patient's wishes and transfer to another HCA hospital "to keep the money in the company". A casemanager was fired because she disagreed with this policy.

    Advice to Management

Start putting the patient first. We need quality not quantity.
