I have been working at Toyota Motor Corporation as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Smart Contractors
Large enterprise, so there are many projects that you can get into
    Rate is average.
The best place to work in this company is in the Data Warehouse unit or a business unit such as treasury, HR or legal.

    Cons

    Lack of respect to contractors
    Permanent staff is highly under-qualified
    Management is generally politically charge
Too much red tape everywhere and not enough qualified people to make the processes lean
    Legacy staff is just that.

    Advice to Management

Get your managers and full time staff better qualified
    Respect contractors
When you want to let go of a contractor - be professional about it.
Reduce all your red tape by hiring an expert business architect and a Sigma6 Black Belt.

I worked at Toyota Motor Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You would really have to struggle to get fired from here. Good mentoring and lots of structure, work was very predictable, all plans were set well in advance.

    Cons

Everything moves at a glacial pace. Frequently blocked by co-workers and managers. Existing systems and processes are so rigid that anything new has to be crammed into these structures whether it fits or not.
