I worked at Toys "R" Us full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Upper management support, let me run my Departments & Supervisors the way I thought was best. Gave me time to coach my team.
Salary, vacation time, and personal days.

    Cons

Labor hours - not enough. Very high number of call outs because most team members were part-time, this hurt my weekend coverage. Did not hold them accountable for call outs.
    I averaged 60 hours a week.

    Advice to Management

Hire more mature Team Members, Share corporate news. Just over the last 6 months to a year at least 4 District Managers left the company. My wife and I have been working for Toys for the last 6 years. We decided that I would resign and change my retail career.

    Pros

Everyone once in awhile a good team member applies, but usually quits do to this uncaring company.

    Cons

    No communication
'Not my job' attitude store wide
No care for customers or employees
    Favoritism
    Ignorant management.
    Awful pay and insurance
Want everything done but no one willing to do anything.
    No staff but no hours
Willing to screw people over without hesitation

    Advice to Management

Care about your job. Actually strive to accomplish the goals you set. Compliment the person that works, not that one that brought in lunch. Take pride in helping customers get what they need, since that's what you have a job doing. Talk to employees about what's going on in a store instead of turning a blind eye. Store needs more 'culture.'
