I have been working at TransDigm (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people and lower level management
    Newly renovated office space
Generally, good work/life balance - management is understanding of family commitments and obligations
Office staff have ability to work from home when needed

    Cons

Senior management is only focused on satisfying corporates agenda
Very focused on making the "number" - does not care what it takes to make it including letting people go
People have grown accustomed to annual layoffs if sales are not met
    Poor company culture/values
    New President every year
Lack of direction from Senior Management - company direction/policies change with every new President
The only that is consistent is chaos

    Advice to Management

Was great before we were acquired several years ago...the company is hemorrhaging good talent and senior management is so focused on making the annual sales target, that they simply do not care. It's not uncommon for people to either leave or be laid off and the job not be filled...in many cases, the work is shifted onto the remaining employees already trying to manage a difficult workload.

Employees are not appreciated at all and it is obvious with the lay-offs which have come to be expected virtually every year since the acquisition. This is true for all companies acquired by Transdigm...every company experiences the same thing...mass layoffs at time of acquisition, no appreciation of employees and it just goes downhill from there.

Opportunity for growth is minimal with little, if any, compensation and is only privy to the select few.

Advice to people seeking work - good short term oppty to gain some experience but would not recommend a career here..

Advice to management - appreciate your employee's, recognize that they are more than just a warm body and focus on what made the company great. Staying competitive and remaining relevant starts with investing in your employee's..

I have been working at TransDigm full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are none....other than to just have a job that continues to get the rich richer!

    Cons

This company does not care one bit about its employees. The only thing this company cares about is how much money they make. There is no incentive/bonus to work for this company other than to simply say you have a job. The moral is very low, and seems to be getting worse. I would not recommend working for this company at all. I have been with the company for a little while now and planning on looking for something better. You tell me how one person can get a 60 million dollar bonus check, but then want to give the employees a gift card, or better yet a merit raise that doesn't even cover gas to and from work. There is no moving up within the company, no opportunity for growth and the pay sucks. I would not even waste the time, or ink to fill out a application for this company.

    Advice to Management

Think about how you are making your numbers to be able to get the bonuses they get on the account of the employees. Without them there would be no trans digm. Give a reason for people to come to work for the company other than to just have a job. No one is trying to get rich, but to be able to feed and take care of our families.
