Current Employee - Area Manager in Boston, MA
Current Employee - Area Manager in Boston, MA

Pros

Lots of autonomy, had the opportunity of working with only monthly visits from the boss. Skill level grew in some areas. Good Boss.

Cons

Technologically antiquated. They don't use computers, only fax machines. Paper work needlessly intense. They don't listen to employees from ways to improve business. Employees are not valued or compensated fairly.

Advice to Management

Get computers. Value your employees. It is easier and cheaper to keep employees than constantly train new ones.

Pay, employee discounts. Great company to work for if you follow your customer service responsibilities and respect the guests.

    Cons

Coworkers can be be a problem, some of them can be lazy and do not fulfill their responsibilities leaving a lot of tasks for the next shift to do

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good pay, especially leaders. Good hours. Get 40 per week consistently. Good chance for promotions. Good District Manager. Great atmosphere.

    Cons

Manager doesn't have good people skills. Company is backwards. I couldn't get a job description but HR is on property every month to help interview salespeople. Seems like a conflict of interest to me...not to mention there are plenty of other things HR should be focused on...like recruiting people and writing a company culture. They undermine management regularly...and then management does the same to supervisors. I wasn't trained good.

    Advice to Management

CEO should better support senior managers. A lot of micromanaging occurs here and it appears as a lack of trust. Let the on site managers do their jobs without constant visits. Tell people what they do right...don't just pick on them for things they do wrong.
