Pros

Travelers has a positive work environment with a lot of energy. There are frequent opportunities to be recognized for doing a good job. While some recognition may seem "rah rah", over time it extends to providing an environment where you want to do well for the good of the team.

Cons

There are a lot of meetings to attend. Sometimes training takes a lot of time away from executing the job.

Advice to Management

Explain to the employees why Travelers isn't going to melt down like other financial services companies.

    Pros

Best reasons to work at Travelers are work life balance and benefits

    Cons

several different layers of overlapping roles in the Claim IT organization with out solid project management make projects painful and difficult to complete with any agility

    Advice to Management

give people incentive to make decisions- even if they are wrong in the end, in an effort to push projects along to completion. Everything can be fixed.

    Pros

    Strong portfolio and Financially strong

    Cons

Some areas of the company are a bit soloed from other areas of the company.

    Advice to Management

Keep the door open to employees of all levels to allow the providing of feedback. It has helped with improving employee moral in the past and (in my opinion) helps with it moving forward. Also, on the same note, periodically providing feedback to the employee population as to ideas (that came from employees) that were acted upon will help employees see how management takes employees comments and ideas seriously.
