I worked at Travelers full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Good PTO bank, competative salaries, friendly work environment. Business Diversity Networks that sponser worthwhile events during the noon hour. Good company for work-life balance.

Cons

Hard to advance without moving to different departments. Behind the times when it comes to technology (still running on Windowas XP and Office 2003).

I have been working at Travelers full-time

    Pros

Probably the best hours, benefits, discounts and pay for the actual amount of work that you do. Insurance is a relatively secure industry if you are a performer.

    Cons

The work is repetitive and a few months in you can do it with your eyes closed. Company does little to teach operations employees about coverage, which is a disadvantage for communications between underwriting and operations. Managers tell you that the work load is demanding (Read: "A lot of busy work").

    Advice to Management

Develop talent and give them a reason to stay with Travelers. Visible paths for advancement would be nice.
