I worked at Travelers full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Casual, relaxed atmosphere. Co-workers were good people to work with. Was able to work from home occasionally, which was great in a snowstorm. Good pay and good benefits. Dental insurance has excellent coverage for a low price.

    Cons

Every person for themselves culture. Manager played favorites and was only concerned with her own career prospects. Most computer systems are from 1983; the ones that are modern are from a company they purchased. All policy processing takes forever because everything is either sent to a service center in the U.S. or India. Communication is extremely difficult with the Indian service center since they take everything you say literally. All of this results in irritated agents who you must deal with on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

Customer service should be the most important thing. More important than your own career goals.
