Pros

There is lots of opportunity within Travelers. The company regularly looks to give their best employees opportunities to make themselves more well rounded. In the past few years, investment in business has been high. Benefits are not the best, but PTO time is good.

Cons

Not all areas of the company stay on the same page. Also some employees can find it hard to break perceptions about past performance. Counterparts in another business area have been trying to replicate our success, yet we do not work together.

Advice to Management

Senior Mgt could do a better job of getting out into individual business units to show that they understand / appreciate all the hard work that is done every day.

    Pros

Being employed; many good people with long time company expierence. Enjoyment from working with others who are knowledgeable hard working. Bonus for some

    Cons

Newly hired to positions they should not hold. Young employees don't care for the job and do just enough to get through the day. People too busy to really do an adequate job. Many complain and don't take responsibility for their own work while placing blame on others. What have you done for me today? No defined retirement benefit, hower do have defined contribution which works out after 30 years to be about 20% of your salary. No retirement medical benefits. Bonus for some turns work place into compentition that hinders the work and gets many to tell lies to cover their rear.

    Advice to Management

Get in touch with the employees who do the work. Stop changing direction and don't let expierence & knowedge go unreconized. Soon you will have a company of workers who can't do the job, but thhey do cost less. At some point it will cost more than you have saved. Why hs the stocked stayed at the same level over the last 5 years with earnings hitting all time highs?

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

There are still some good people left.

    Cons

Insufficient support structure and increasing demands without an increase in compensation. No bonuses for those who are young and single. Merit increases (Raises) do not exceed the rate of inflation so you make less as years go on.

    Advice to Management

Treat professionals with respect and address them as professionals.
