    I worked at Trellis Company

    Pros

Benefits! If you like coffee, tea and popcorn....all that is free (which is nice). One large break room with several smaller ones throughout the building. The large break room has a large TV which is also nice if you lunch/break inside.

    Cons

It's hard to believe your immediate management chain has your best interest in mind if they can't even speak to you!!! Collection management shows favoritism and stereotypes. They pick and choose when they want to post a position or just move one of their picks into an open position. Knowledge & skills are not a requirement...you can have a degree and know NOTHING and still get a TL/SR position if you're a... favorite or fit into their click! It's not about learning the job to help borrowers it's about reading scripts.....saying what they want you to say (which changed regularly)! One day a rep might be able to tell you ALL of your options...the next day probably not! The goal should be to HELP the borrowers....PERIOD!!! REALLY you will send an account to garnishment because they were an hour late making their payment!! The fun/family environment no longer existed......committees and team activities were reduced and those that still existed struggled for participation because management wouldn't allow active participation by all team members. Management would pick and choose what they want to communicate to team members which allowed the rumor mill to run rampant. The leave time was redesigned to PTO....which that within itself was not a problem; however, when you group all of the vacation, sick and personal time together (PTO) but reduce the number of hours earned each pay period and then only pay for 50% of the balance when a person leaves the company....where is the justice in that! The company is struggling to find new busy, several layoffs have taken place but yet and still management found a way to give pay grades 15 and above a HUGE salary increase (just in time for the corporate bonus) leaving everyone else to hopefully get the 3% yearly increase! I say hopefully because if you are not a favorite you probably won't even get a 3% increase because management will find a way to limit you during review time. Yes....you are more than welcome to add your comments on your review (good or bad) but no one (not your immediate boss, their boss, HR, etc) will ever meet with you about your comments nor will you receive any type of legitimate review that will actually outline a structured plan that will improve or align yourself for those rare opportunities of advancement. ALL team members should be given the opportunity to learn new skills, cross-train, have an opportunity for advancement, etc. if so desired. HR does not support the team members. They are 100% behind management....right or wrong!

    Advice to Management

Hold your management team accountable! R(2)ISE should apply to them as well. Take a sincere interest in all of your employees. Listen to your team members and seek their input. Allow your team members to speak honestly without fear of consequences, being targeted or blackballed. Design a program that allows all of your employees to grow and seek advancement. Don't let the rumor mill communicate... what you should be communicating! The culture of a company requires more than just posting signs/quotes all over the building. It starts from the top and should be lived not just a poster that sounds good and looks good! Actually believe and live R(2)ISE!!

I have been working at Trellis Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Trellis Company has recently made significant leadership changes that have created an environment of trust, openness, and leadership regularly demonstrates how they truly value employee contributions and commitment. The transparency demonstrated just within then past few months provides insight into the future including impact to employees, and the integrity now displayed has long been lacking and while employees... are held accountable, management "walks the talk". Benefits are stellar with a lot of flexibility and options, and the facilities are amazing.
