Pros

Honestly, it would have to be the other employees that work on the project. I have met some of the best people in the world while working on this project and made some very good friends. Also it is one of the VERY FEW tech-oriented jobs in the Jacksonville, NC locale.

Cons

The total and complete lack of communication between senior management and their employees. I am not talking about the senior management that is on site with the people actually in the field doing the grunt work, but about the senior management that comes around once every couple of months to smooth over the latest debacle, whatever it may be. Another downside would be salary insecurity. In 2005 the employees on the NMCI project aboard MCB Camp Lejeune were forced to take a substantial salary cut. We were told a number of different reasons but no one knows what the truth of the matter really was. Another downside is having to deal with all of the political garbage between the Marine Corps and EDS regarding the NMCI project. Every day new directives are handed down on how to handle certain situations and most of the time they change policies already in place that work perfectly well but it's just flak and fallout from whatever private little war that is going on between the Corps and EDS over the running of the NMCI Project.

Advice to Management

Value your people. Treat them with respect. Praise them for the phenomenal job they do on a daily basis under some of the severest of SLA's and adversity instead of expecting that performance to become the status quo and berating them and finding fault with them when they do fall short or miss the mark. Let them know you appreciate them. You would be AMAZED at just how far telling someone "Thank You, I really appreciate you!" would go toward boosting morale, BUT you have to MEAN it and not just be blowing smoke up their rears.

    Pros

If you are positioned in a stable place the pay is worth the hours. Other employees are helpful and management is lenient. 401k is present and other benefits are included if you stay for 3 months.

    Cons

Working in different complexes isn't worth it. The expectancy for your role is different in each place and you get stuck working in major hotels where theres mayhem.

    Advice to Management

Pay more for workers who are stuck in high end trafficked buildings.

I worked at Triton Services, Inc. full-time

    Pros

The company has some good people and the owner seems to care about those he perceives as loyal.

    Cons

A majority of the people are miserable and looking for other jobs. Kinda makes it hard to sink your teeth into a position.
