Pros

Great Salary; Great Reputation; One of the few "big firms" that gives new associates an opportunity to get invovled with important matters and direct client contact (the 2nd years are doing more "substantive work" than many 4th years at other firms

Cons

Too much "working the system" (great if you're a typical *** kisser); too many decisions made based upon comradery rather than compentency; not enough inter-group communication

Advice to Management

Focus on putting Policies into Practice; there are so many goals and objectives of the firm that are great, but as an associate, we do not actually get the practical benefit of them. And, that is incredibly unfair and disappointing to those of us who had the opportunity to go elsewhere, but chose Troutman.

I have been working at Troutman Sanders full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent Management team. Professional yet easygoing. Free lunches quite often. Beautiful Office and views from office in Irvine, Ca location. For the most part, you get left alone to do your work.

    Cons

Many of the people who get paid 5x the amount than others, tend to give their work to the little people while they are on personal calls, online shopping etc. No accountability from select few (same few who pawn off their work, blame others, talk behind your back to avoid getting written up etc.,)

I worked at Troutman Sanders as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

This law firm knows a thing or two about providing a safe, professional and rewarding experience for the employee

One of the oldest and most respected law firm(s) in Atlanta has become the embodiment of progress, adaptability in the ever changing market and success that is perfectly harmonized with every employee

    Other Pros: Location, location, location
Marta Access, Community Outreach programs, EOP, Deep commitments to their staff members, Upward mobility, Low turnover

    Cons

One of the pragmatic "Cons" is very situational and that includes the communication between other support staff, departments. They are cognizant of this and by the time you finish reading my review, the opportunity will be favorably complete

    Advice to Management

The management staff at Troutman, Sanders are very well skilled and so advanced that I am not qualified to provide any "Advice" at this time
