I worked at True Religion Brand Jeans part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The management team is very informed, they're thorough in training you and making sure you have product knowledge and are good at selling. They are helpful and open to questions.

Team was fun and nice, easy to get along with and make friends

Good for a first or second retail job because they thoroughly train you in selling, standardizing, and product knowledge, so there's room to grow in learning about retail. You improve a lot in how you approach selling and talking to customers.

SM was very flexible with hours and giving you 15-35 hours a week. She also understood if you were going to school and etc.

    Very professional in everything.

    Lots of Independance

Clients were fun to talk to

Other employees were there for you when you have an off week in sales

Each manager did things differently so it was refreshing but still under the same rules and guidelines.

You meet a lot of people from all over the world, (Hawaii Outlet)

    Cons

Management is changing a lot and so they dont try as hard but still expect better results from you. its not as fun as it used to be.

Not working as a team anymore when it comes to sales. Anger if theres stolen sales. making a tense working environment.

Rarely room for promotion, even if you've been there a while and there is favoritism in scheduling. Even if youre really good, raises RARELY happen

SM stole sales, esp from top sales and newcomers (Frustrating because district only sees the numbers, they dont see how much you really do, and all that work from working the sale means nothing unless you make a client out of them. Which rarely happens because almost everyone who likes True Religion in Hawaii are tourists.)

The company CD you have to listen to all day is really bad. There's a few good ones but listening to it all day really slows you down. Esp when you have to be energetic and selling.

Expected to sell, lots of pressure to make goal, but no commission. And if you make the months goal, everyone gets 100 dollar bonus, which is 30 dollars after tax. (Hawaii)

What you're paid is NOT worth everything you do. And you do a lot working here.

You can be paid less than everyone and get less hours than most. Even if youre top sales.

Management team were fun at times but could also be very hypocritical.

Sometimes did extension shifts, you never knew when you were gonna finish work

    Advice to Management

Associates here do more than what they're asked every day and deserve better benefits and pay. Especially in Hawaii where we make all the numbers from the thousands of tourists and promote the brand around the world.

Help associates work AS A TEAM.

Address the stolen sales issues or there will be more problems in the future

I have been working at True Religion Brand Jeans full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The discount at a retail store only

    Cons

Wow where to begin, this company has been unfair, dishonest, and has forced me to quit. I have contacted corporate for this issue and nothing has been done. They do nothing for their employees, just expect them to sell sell sell, if you don't.. no hours, like someone mentioned before this job is for someone under 21 or 21 who likes to party and gossip at their locations, the district manager could care less about what happens in the store, management gossip the most and don't care about their employees and their personal conflicts.

    Advice to Management

I would highly suggest management such as District Managers or higher to overlook the store and go in consistently to review what is really going on in the store besides looking at $ figures.
