I have been working at Tufts Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Great learning environment; many opportunities to get involved with research; everyone I met was very intelligent and eager to share their knowledge

Cons

Location is not very glamorous; it is a large tertiary care hospital so you are really isolated in your division; some of the buildings are old and desperately need renovation; the position was unpaid

I have been working at Tufts Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great people, well respected hospital.

    Cons

They need to give their employees more pay. The staff is definitely underpaid. I was a medical assistant and patient coordinator at the same time. Patients always said to me that they see me doing everything. That's not a good thing at all. It's showing the patients that the department isn't fully staffed.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to appreciate your employees more often. Acknowledging hard work goes a long way.

I worked at Tufts Medical Center full-time

    Pros

Co-workers are great; Ellen Zane was wonderful, but some of her hires left a lot to be desired

    Cons

Dysfunctional senior leadership and too much patronage; total lack of resources making it challenging to do things well

    Advice to Management

Try to gain some market share or merge with someone; union nursing salaries are outrageous and impacting your bottom line. There is a certain amount of nepotism which results in staffers being put in positions they are clearly not qualified for-hopefully that has improved
