No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Tufts University full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good facilities, location right in Chinatown so there's interesting places to eat, good amount of social happy hours and stuff for post doc's and techs to do. Open lab environment, so labs are large rooms with several groups within, which I much prefered over having smaller rooms with one group.

Senior people were very willing to give advice and help out

Cons

Cons are really just with academic career path in general. Long hours and low pay.

Advice to Management

They're doing pretty good.

I have been working at Tufts University full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Small enough to have a community feel; beautiful slightly suburban campus; good benefits; great students

    Cons

Small size means limited opportunities for advancement in specific roles (it is the nature of higher ed that people stay in management roles for a long time) so with a smaller school, it is natural that there would be fewer openings. It is not Tufts' fault, it is just the nature of the beast. Good people have left, not because they didn't like Tufts, but pursued more senior roles at larger universities in the area.
