I worked at Turner Broadcasting full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

The People, the people and the people. Some of the best, most talented individuals work with this corporation and the connections last long after you have moved on to something else. Great people.

Cons

It's a corporation and the red tape can sometimes be maddening. But it's one of the top corporations out there, so endure.

Advice to Management

Follow Ted Turner's lead... make the news the star, not the anchors. Bring true investigative journalism back. You're the best at it.

I have been working at Turner Broadcasting full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible culture, always promoting innovation and collaboration. Benefits are great and schedule is pretty flexible. Paid Time Off increases as years go by and you get a good amount of days off. Great training programs and perks.

    Cons

It's a little bit hard to move around. The recruitment department is not very effective and the internal opportunities site is not clear enough on salary and hiring manager information so it makes it difficult to decide if a position is good for you or not. You can grow, if you make connections, otherwise you are set to stay in the same place for a long time.

"Great company, but several bad departments."

I have been working at Turner Broadcasting full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company is really a fantastic company. There are great benefits, they care about their employees, lots of opportunity to move around, and a generally friendly enviornment. They are also working on some of the coolest things in the business!!

    Cons

Several departments are (like in many large companies) driven by nothing but politics. I had a VP tell me to allow a revenue producing service go offline just to teach another VP a lesson. There are a lot of tremendously talented people there though. Hopefully they can turn it around.

    Advice to Management

Find the mangement that is only concerned with climbing the ladder and throw them out. Everyone needs to get the message that they work for Turner Broadcasting, not just their team or department.
